Author and illustrator of several notable children’s books in Quebec, Nathalie Lagace’s work is designed to provoke reflection and discussion.
Recognized and rewarded for the strength of her images, the line of her graphite pencils is guided by metaphorical and symbolic figures of style, resulting in surrealist images that, as if by magic, transcend a striking sweetness of truth.

Although most of her published books are in color, Nathalie primarily designs in black and white.
According to her, working on illustrations without relying on the emotional power of colors allows her to create stronger images.

Mysteries, ghosts, cold sweats, and zombies won’t make her back down! Just for the occasion, she’ll carefully sharpen the tips of her pencils!

A few words about the artist
Graduated in graphic design from Cégep du Vieux Montréal, Nathalie Lagacé took her first steps into the professional world as a television designer. However, her desire to take on challenges led her to leave her office routine to become a bus driver. An adventure full of twists and turns, but above all, a revealing moment: for her, living without creating is impossible.
Since then, she has dedicated herself to the marriage of words and images. With a delicate and poetic pen and enveloping illustrations, Nathalie focuses on feminist themes where equality, self-respect, and respect for others are treated with finesse and kindness.
A perfectionist at heart, everything she touches is done with professionalism and passion. Awarded multiple times for the beauty and quality of her work, Nathalie Lagacé is a talented creator who will not leave you indifferent!
